The elegant design of the Viennese late Biedermeier era characterise this coffee pot and milk jug set with ivory handles. The coffee pot and milk jug are dated 1853, the owner’s monogram is GK.

The maker’s stamp HW refers to Hermann Wendel, who was registered as a silversmith in Vienna in 1850. A considerable number of silversmiths worked in Vienna during the Biedermeier period. The desire and demand for silver objects was high in the late Biedermeier period.
The newly prosperous Bourgeoisie, wanted to emulate the nobility and also equipped their households with silverware.
